Dr. Norvel Mathis : Norvel is a living phenom. At just thirty-six Orbits, he is a genius mathematician, physicist, and engineer. A true renaissance man, he could turn a pile of rubble and scrap into a gravity resonator if provided the right tools. In his younger, more adventurous years, Norvel’s talents caused him to wind up in an IGB Cruiser Prison after conducting unsanctioned vitalerium experiments. He was “reclaimed” from his IGB cell by Overseer Zerris Aganon, who demanded only his expertise, and unquestioning loyalty. Today, he must work for Zerris as payment for being relieved from incarceration. Norvel was made the Primary Investigator of the Physics division of XSEC: The CP’s hyper-classified scientific research organization. Here, his primary responsibility is “solving problems” for Zerris in the form of creating new weaponry to aid in the CPs expansion plans. Despite his profession, Norvel is a morally sound man. He values science, experimentation, and constant learning. He is not afraid to get his hands dirty with work, and oftentimes prefers the lab to the outside world.
