The Deadzone:

The Deadzone, referred to as "the outer rim" by some, is the barren
wasteland between the city of Kairus, and the untamed jungle of Deorum. When Deorum was first inhabited, the planet was explored and found to be incredibly dangerous. Its vicious alien wildlife was deemed to be an obstacle toward normal clearing methods. So, the ever-utilitarian IGB used explosives to level the ground and eliminate all hostile species where Kairus would ultimately be built. The wildlife has yet to return to the Deadzone since Deorum's colonization
248 years in the past.

Argos: The city of Argos is the most powerful, and largest city-state in Kairus, barring
Kairus-Prime and its Spheres. Argos is a wealthy city state because it is a hub for
interplanetary importing and exporting of goods. Aside from the essential resource, Vitalerium, a
vast majority of Deorum's exotic goods come through Argos. Whereas most citizens live in small
domiciles in the countless high-rise buildings in the confines of the city, Argos is one of the few
places that still maintains space for standalone residential homes (with Talos, Ytonia, and
Luxenia being the others). Its Governor, Arpen Delgato, came to power by reasonably fair
means with his intelligence, tenacity, and charisma during a time when there was still a
semblance of elections in Kairus. He leads alongside his wife, Leyona Delgato, who is in many
ways his perfect partner. She is pragmatic, compassionate, and powerful in her own regard.
They are the model power couple. Arpen, as a noble born, maintains noble values. He is
respectful, diligent, and possesses strong integrity. Do not let his polite demeanor fool you, for
he is a pit bull in the courtroom. Argos has fifty votes in the Court of Kairus.

Luxenia: Luxenia is an extremely wealthy city-state located to the southeast of Kairus’s
limits, and is home to mostly upper middle class, and wealthy citizens. It is the richest city-state
aside from the prized Inner-Sphere, which houses the Apex. While Kairus-Prime makes its
money through the mining of Vitalerium, Luxenia has an extremely strong rare and semi-rare
minerals industry, which produces exorbitant amounts of credits through deep space mining of
other important resources and elements. Many of the buildings in Luxenia are clad with a gold-
colored exterior, making the entire city-state appear slightly gold-tinged from orbit. This is due to
a building regulation enacted to one-up its neighbor city-state, Ytonia. The spirit of competition
seems ever present in Luxenia, who’s inhabitants relish the opulence they work incessantly for.
This mindset is so strong, it even transferred into their architecture. Luxenia is led by Nataliya
Yoon, its hard-working and driven Governor. She is poignant, sharp, and unrelenting. Though
her family has maintained generations of Luxenia leaders, she puts in the effort worthy of her
birthright. Nataliya governs alongside her wife, Irina Yoon. Luxenia has forty-five votes in the
Court of Kairus.

Talos: Talos is the Smallest of the city-states in Kairus. However, despite its size, the
people of Talos are proud, and vocal in regard to the evolving political landscape. The mighty
city state is led by the headstrong politician, Governor Tomlin Cornathus. Talos was once
incredibly wealthy due to the many banks that once headquartered there. However, when the
Deorum National Bank closed its doors, the city-state was taken down a peg. Despite this, Talos
remained resilient. The city-state still thrives due to its pivotal role in building and infrastructure
in Kairus, as well as its thriving cyber-defense industry. Governor Tomlin Cornathus is a former
CP Guardsman, and the eldest member of the Court of Kairus by a substantial number of orbits.
However, once a military man, always a military man; his age does not slow him down in the
slightest, and he is surprisingly spry for his advanced age. His views are devoutly conservative.
He is stubborn, headstrong, and oftentimes brash. He leads alongside his wife, Madison
Cornathus. Talos has twenty votes in the Court of Kairus.

Leebrus: The city of Leebrus is bustling with Arts, sciences, and a futuristic "free love”
vibe. In many ways, it is the heart and soul of Kairus's entertainment industry. Leebrus is home
to the Caerulleum Showcase, one of the largest event spaces in the Galaxy that hosts
performances from every planet. Everyone who seeks fame, fortune, and or simply a taste of
the artistic life, flocks to Leebrus to do so. This city-state also has the largest Hybrid population
in Kairus outside of the Grind. Leebrus is headed by Triconius "Trike" Gunderson, a self-
proclaimed do-gooder with dark secrets. He is a good-looking man who enjoys the limelight, and
often keeps the company of musicians, superstars, and popular figures. A fan of the spotlight,
he utilizes the media to maintain his image as a man of the people, and tout himself as a
philanthropic political superstar. When he is on camera, he projects the essence of strength
and leadership. However, in the political world he is weak and is easily manipulated by Overseer
Zerris Aganon. Trike is married to Zalina Gunderson, a famous model many years his junior who
helps him maintain a façade of youth. Leebrus has thirty votes in the Court of Kairus.

Dorok: Dorok is a city-state focused primarily on Deorum's military establishment. It
houses the vast training grounds for the CP Guardsmen, as well as the weapons manufacturers
that arm them, and the autonomous drones that aid them. It is a society that is built around
armed services, so unsurprisingly, it also provides the majority of the recruits for the CP
Guardsmen. Dorok Ferous Benson the XIII is the Governor of Dorok, a city-state which he is
named after. He is the thirteenth Dorok Ferous Benson to rule over Dorok and takes great pride
in his lineage. He is also the only Governor who holds a third title: General of the CP
Guardsmen. His duties include recruiting and directing training initiatives, as well as enacting
the Overseers military and policing orders. Dorok is a hulking man who looks practically built for
conflict. He is quick tempered, exceedingly brazen for a politician, and duty driven. The General
is devoutly loyal to Overseer Zerris Aganon and remains his strongest alliance. With a
mercenary mindset, and a love for "the glory of warfare,” Dork Ferous Benson is a force to be
reckoned with. The city-state of Dorok has thirty votes in the Court of Kairus.

Ytonia: Ytonia is known as the "Silver City", garnering its name from the appearance of
the city from above. Due to its strict building codes, which require any construction's edifice to
be at least 75% steel, chrome, or silver in color, the city maintains the appearance of a great
silver coin on the surface of Deorum. Ytonia is the hub for domestic hovercar production,
though the city has emptied somewhat in light of the recession following the banking
consolidation. Many who once found a comfortable home in Ytonia were priced out, and
ultimately forced into the Grind. Because of this, Ytonia has the highest outside commuter rate
of any city-state. The other thing Ytonia is known for is its control of domestic agriculture, and
food production and packaging for Deorum. It manages the massive fields of regenerative,
elevated farms located outside the walls of Kairus near the Lipheric Ocean. This is also where
the desalination plant is located, providing Kairus’s water supply. Outside of the city walls, this
location contains the only human-made/occupied structures on the planet. Ytonia is run by Tye
Brenzen, a longtime political friend of Overseer Zerris Aganon. He is the son of magnate Borris
Brenzan, who passed on his governorship to Tye following his death. Tye is yes man, and a
crony who profits from being loyal to Zerris in many ways. A follower in a leader's position, he
would follow Zerris to hell and back, even if it detracted from his own city-state’s well-being.
Though he presents an upbeat, can-do attitude on the exterior, Brenzen is nervous, and wishy-
washy beneath this facade. Ytonia holds twenty-five votes in the Court of Kairus.

Kairus Prime: Outer Sphere: The Outer Sphere of Kairus Prime is extremely varied as
it relates to quality of life. Its tallest buildings reside closest to the Inner Sphere, where life is
relatively satisfactory. However, the further out you travel in any direction from the Inner
Sphere's great walls, the more destitute conditions become. It is vastly larger than the Inner
sphere and houses the overwhelming majority of Kairus-Prime's residents. This densely packed
metropolis still maintains a significant amount of wealth, and a variety of industries. However, as
you begin to approach the Outer Sphere's great walls, separating it from the Grind, the surroundings become unsafe, impoverished, and barren. It was not always like this, but the Coalition's practice of cronyism over the decades coupled with the banking consolidation have made times hard for the outer limits of the Outer Sphere. In fact, parts of the Grind may even be preferable to the last forty blocks from the Sphere's great walls. Many of this area's former residents have since moved to the Grind. Homelessness is rampant in the Outer Sphere. The majority of the outer sphere is dirty, verging on aesthetically post-apocalyptic toward its edges, which are rarely tended to by CP infrastructure and management. To help with this somewhat, the CP Guardsmen maintain a heavy presence in the Outer Sphere. However, due to the priorities dictated by CP leadership, the majority of their effort is put into keeping the working citizens in line--busy and obedient.

Kairus Prime: Inner Sphere: Every city state is encircled by great steel walls, but the
largest and greatest of all of them surround Kairus-Prime's Inner Sphere. The tallest
skyscrapers in the city of Kairus reside here, built so close they practically touch each other. To
ensure that the light of Bios, Deorum's star, can penetrate its dense skyline, many of the Inner
Sphere’s buildings are fitted with mirror systems that allow light to reflect through. This shining
jewel of the Deorum Kingdom is home to millions of successful professionals, and high level
government employees. Though much smaller than its counterpart (the Kairus-Prime Outer
Sphere) the Inner Sphere is constantly bustling with activity. It is, and always has been
Deorum's hub for business and government relations. This is likely due to its proximity to
Sanctum Core: a small circle of megastructures constituting the epicenter of Government. At its
very center stands Sanctum Tower, the Coalition for Prosperity's capital, and the location of the
Court of Kairus. Though energy production and the Vitalerium trade are its main sources of
wealth, many other industries maintain their headquarters here-- as close to the source of power
as they can get. The Inner Sphere is considered home by the rich and the wealthy. However,
those who reside within its walls live extremely "regimented" lifestyles. All of Kairus is ruled
over by Zerris Aganon, who is the youngest individual to ever hold the Overseer’s seat of power.
He is cunning, calculating, and ruthlessly ambitious. Under him, the government of Deorum
exercises a considerable amount of control over its people. Constantly monitored, the citizens
live orderly, yet curated lives where they’re bombarded with constant propaganda directed by
Zerris & his inner circle. Kairus-Prime (including both the Inner and Outer Spheres) holds fifty-
five votes in the Court of Kairus.

The Apex: High above Sanctum Core, situated 221 stories above the ground, is a
gigantic platform that extends from Sanctum Tower outward. Only a few structures pass the
limits of the prized Apex. The utmost upper echelon of society resides here, where politeness
precedes, leisure prevails, beauty radiates, and safety is paramount. It is populated by the ultra-
wealthy: royalty, politicians, corporate barons, oligarchs, business moguls and the like.
Unhindered by the blockade of the city’s countless structures, the Apex’s magnificent view of
Kairus Prime stretches for thousands of miles. To live here requires a few things—an exorbitant
amount of credits, ties to the Coalition for Prosperity, and a prescription for Ephina-lotus, a
euphoric pharmaceutical. The pharmaceutical is prescribed for living in conditions at such a
great elevation, however its true purpose is to keep the powerful residents preoccupied--high
enough to prevent the enlightenment of the aristocracy, yet present enough to be productive.
The grounds are immaculately manicured, filled with artwork and statues in tribute to Deoran
politicians. Life is joyous, orderly, and automated. The high-class revel in their perfect society
that treats them to lavish convenience; and pay for it, they do.

Sanctum Tower: Sanctum core resides at the center of Kairus-Prime's
Inner Circle, encompassing only about ten blocks. It is a marvelous spectacle that is meant to
impress the eye. Beneath the cover of the Apex’s platform high above, its pristine grounds and
adventurous architecture emits an air of Royalty—unsurprising given what it houses. Sanctum
Core serves as the well-maintained junction of business and government affairs. At its very
center, stands the Coalition for Prosperity's Headquarters: Sanctum Tower. At an astounding
359 stories tall, Sanctum tower dwarfs all surrounding megastructures. Crafted from black
treated steel, and sided with tinted glass, it is a daunting obelisk of governance. The only color
in the entire building comes from the single neon blue light strip that runs up either side of its
edifice to its peak. At its pinnacle, behind the largest container of its kind ever constructed, is the
single largest vitalerium meteor ever retrieved. It has been refined, and cut into a gigantic
icosahedron, which spins freely as it hovers in its container. This meteor not only provides
power to all seven city-states, but it also powers the vitalerium Skyshield, which is impenetrable
when activated. Sanctum tower is home to Overseer Zerris Aganon, who lives on the 350 th floor
of the building. Just below his residence on the 333 rd floor, is the Court of Kairus. This is where
legislation is voted on by the unelected CP representatives from each city-state. They travel to
Sanctum Tower by special transit tubes that bring them from their respective city-states directly
Coalition headquarters.

The Grind: The Grind as a whole is colored a rust brown. It reeks of a combination of
combustion, sewage, and street food. No skyscrapers grace the clouds above like in Kairus
Prime. Most buildings here are crafted from the salvaged remains of destroyed starships that
were in abundance after the Hundred Years War. What first began as a place for those banished
from the great walls of Kairus, became something much more. Individuals seeking to escape the
hand of the government also found the Grind to be a respite; a sanctuary of freedom for those
who simply wanted to live in peace apart from the CP. However, the small settlement expanded
over the passing orbits following a surge in planetary migration in the early days of Deorum’s
booming economy. The Grind was suddenly filled with a massive influx of residents who
required low rent living to get their new lives started. Then, when the economy hit hard times,
and life within the walls became expensive, many blue-collar workers picked up their things and
moved to the Grind. Today, a little over half of the population of Deorum resides in the Grind.
This part of the city receives no power from the great vitalerium meteor above Sanctum Tower,
and no protection from the vitalerium Skyshield. It also holds no representation in the Court of
Kairus. The CP Guardsmen's presence is scarce compared to the other city-states, which is
simply due to the vast expanse that the Grind Covers. However, it is increasing by the day as
Zerris moves to assert more control over what little success their growing society has achieved.
