The Sacred Order of Equilibrium is the dominant religion of Deorum and is also practiced on select planets within the Galactic Alliance. It is centered on the belief that the universe exists in a constant state of fluctuation along the line of universal equilibrium—a force that maintains all things in delicate balance. Human consciousness is viewed as the universe experiencing itself, unfolding the greatest story ever told, which followers call “The Grand Narrative.”
The sigil of the Order is an ever-swinging pendulum with four points, each representing one of the four Gods: the God of Balance, the God of Confidence, the God of Consciousness, and the God of Interconnectivity. Together, they form the one true God of Equilibrium. Though referred to as gods, these higher powers are not seen as beings but as the fundamental forces of nature that govern reality.
Historically, the Order has remained neutral in the Grand Narrative. However, since the rise of the Aganon family in the 2600s—beginning with Gannon Aganon—their role has shifted. While all Seers take an oath to bring only good into the world, their alliance with the Aganons has led them to prioritize “the greater good” through their influence over powerful individuals. In this view, collective well-being takes precedence over individual needs.
The priests of the Order, known as Seers, live monk-like lives in pursuit of a deeper understanding of humanity’s place in the universe. They dedicate themselves to maintaining order and preventing chaos, vowing only to tip the pendulum toward stability. Many Seers choose a path of silence, speaking only during mass, though there are exceptions to this tradition.
